TikTok’s influence on beauty is no longer up for debate; from heat free sock waves going viral to the resurgence of blush in a big way (thankyou Addison Rae). And when it comes to tutorials, close ups and trends, it is no surprise the app is also changing the game for eye makeup. Looks that once seemed completely terrifying or were reserved exclusively for professionals and celebrities on the red carpet, are now all over our for you page and on the faces of our favourite creators, big and small. We rounded up the top eye makeup trends on TikTok and the products you need to nail them.

Colourful inner corners

By far, the easiest of the trends we’ve seen come out of TikTok, adding some colour to the inner corners is the fastest way to brighten up a smokey eye or a sharp winged liner. The most popular colours we’ve seen include neons, such as oranges and purples, pastels like blues or pinks or depending on your mood a splash of gold. If you’re trying to up the drama, match the colour on your inner corners to your outfit or even to your hair; like Patrick Ta’s look on Avani Gregg.

Now, this is a trend everyone can get around.

Floating liner

Floating liner is nothing new in the beauty world, however the impact of ‘Rain On Me’ has definitely taken this trend to the next level. While Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga made this look iconic with a white floating crease liner, this trend can be tried with any colour. Keep it classy like Yara Shahidi with a sleek black line or up your game and add a bright block shadow under the liner or use a bright colour for the line itself.

Try: Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Liner, $35 AUD

White winged liner

Similarly made iconic by ‘Rain on Me’, white liner has taken off thanks to TikTok. A fresh take on a classic wing, white liner is taking over our feeds…and for good reason. While a swipe of white liner on your waterline is known to be brightening, a white wing can have similar effects making you look more awake and making your eyes look bigger. Basically it’s a win-win.

Try: SUVA Beauty Hydra Liner in Space Panda, $21 AUD

Euphoria makeup

Despite coming out in June 2019, it seems Euphoria makeup as a trend is not going anywhere anytime soon. Gaining traction last summer with the release of the first season of the series, the hashtag #euphoriamakeup has since picked up over 240 million views on TikTok. The trend is most notably made up of eye looks that includes bold coloured shadows, liners, shimmer shades and rhinestones.
