Selena Gomez is about to take the beauty world by storm.
Early this morning Selena Gomez announced on her Instagram that she’s launching her first makeup brand, Rare Beauty.
In a video teaser, the singer gives us a glimpse into the BTS process of how the concept came to life, “I think Rare Beauty can be more than a beauty brand,” she says. “I want us all to stop comparing ourselves to each other and just start embracing our own uniqueness.”
Selena says she’s been working on the brand for two years, as she wanted to find the best team possible to ensure her vision for an inclusive, positive brand was properly executed.
“You’re not defined by a photo, a like, or a comment,” she continued. “Rare Beauty isn’t about how others see you, it’s about how you see yourself.”
Self-love has been a major work-in-progress for Selena over the years. The child star has notoriously struggled with the pressures of growing up in the spotlight and the scrutiny that goes along with that.
According to the Rare Beauty Instagram page, the brand’s mission is to “shape conversations around beauty, self-acceptance, and mental health.” The brand will reportedly extend beyond skincare and makeup, with the aim to help customers gain access to support services.
Rare Beauty is launching in summer 2020 and will be available at Sephora and rarebeauty.com.
