From The Kissing Booth to Euphoria, Jacob Elordi’s rise from Brisbane, Australia to super stardom has been meteoric. A number of films in post-production and a second season of Euphoria on the horizon, Elordi is once again the talk of the town– most recently for gracing the cover of Man About Town: a bi-annual men’s fashion magazine hailing from the UK.

In a moment reminiscent of Harry Styles’ internet breaking Vogue cover (on which he donned a Gucci dress and jacket combination), Elordi has caught the public’s attention for more than just his upcoming acting projects…namely his wardrobe dominated by Australian women and menswear designers and his fresh faced makeup look. We caught up with the Brisbane based makeup artist responsible for the look, Shannon JJ Williams, to discuss the process, the products and how to recreate it.

“The focus was around non-masculinity, which is why we went in with makeup products to enhance Jacob’s beautiful features. I wanted his skin to look dewy and bright so focused on products that would bring out his youthful luminosity,” says Williams.

For skin prep, Williams credits the Fenty Beauty Total Cleans’R [Remove-It-All Cleanser] for “a deep cleanse to remove dirt and oil. I followed with a super hydrating Detoxifeye Depuffing Eye Patch by pixie with a Beautiful Starskin Red Carpet Ready Mask to add intense hydration and make the skin super dewy and supple,” he says.

When it comes to the makeup look, Williams notes the “hero products were definitely skincare however the Ere Perez Arnica Concealer has a second skin look that buffs in seamlessly, making it easy to spot conceal and illuminate the under eye for a more awake look.” Williams explains he then went in with the Ciaté London Dewy Blush in the shade Papaya “for a subtle rosy glow– the gel-balm formula is great for adding a pop of colour and brightness in one step.” He finished the look with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dewy Set Setting Spray, “to further hydrate the skin and add a luminous glow.”

Of working with Jacob, who would under pre-pandemic circumstances have been in Los Angeles, instead of Byron Bay where the shoot took place instead; Williams says “he was a really chilled guy…He basically [arrived] on set and told everyone to have fun…to dance, sing, make it an enjoyable moment, not for himself but for the creative team [too]. Very passionate on set and definitely a character,” he says.
