Lana Condor is ringing in the new year with a big new ring!
The Netflix actress announced her engagement to longtime boyfriend Anthony De La Torre via Instagram on January 28th, writing, “Saying YES was the easiest decision I’ve ever made. I consider myself the absolute luckiest woman alive to live in your sphere.”
She went on to explain that her fiancé designed the ring with the Vietnamese female-owned company, Paris Jewellers Canada. “The fact he knew how important it was to me that he’d collaborate w/ a Vietnamese company to help design my ring is a testament to just how truly thoughtful he always is. I cannot wait to be your wife, baby. I love you a million times over,” she finished.
Anthony also shared the news on social media, saying it was the “easiest decision I’ve ever made” asking Lana to marry him.
Who is Anthony De La Torre?
Anthony is a Cuban-American singer, songwriter, actor, and guitarist. He started working in the entertainment industry as a Justin Bieber impersonator throughout his teens until he relocated to Nashville and later to Los Angeles.
Most notably, Anthony was cast as a young Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
How did Lana Condor & Anthony De La Torre meet?
The couple met at an Emmy’s nominee reception in 2015. Lana told Cosmo in 2019 that Anthony approached her with the line, “Hi, I’m Anthony. I thought I would make a friend.” She compared the night they met to a Taylor Swift song.
The two began dating in August 2015. “We went on our first date and saw a movie called The Gift,” Anthony wrote in an Instagram caption celebrating the couple’s five-year anniversary. “While the plot of the film in no way represents our life, the name of the movie couldn’t be more fitting to what you are. The greatest gift I’ve ever been blessed and entrusted with.”
Anthony’s a romantic at heart
By all accounts, the 28-year-old is a romantic. During an interview with Cosmopolitan UK, Lana told the outlet that Anthony writes her love letters. “He writes me love letters all the time,” she said. “He’s the freaking best. He’ll leave me little messages taped to my bathroom mirror on days I have to wake up early for work. He once picked up my favorite take-out food after work and served it up properly on our kitchen table, with little sticky notes attached to each plate saying how proud of me he is.”
In 2019, Anthony released a new song ‘Know Me’, which was allegedly written about Lana.
The couple have released music together
On February 19th 2020, the couple released an original duet titled, ‘Raining in London’. “This is our heart,” Lana wrote on Instagram. “Our song ‘Raining In London’ (ft. me) is FINALLY OUT, and so is my dear @anthonydltorre whole EP FIND ME. I couldn’t be more proud of him. Against so many odds, he’s made this EP come to life for you all to hear. It’s definitely playing on repeat all day for me 💕! I love you golden boy, thru and thru.”
The two have since released several songs together and Anthony even inspired Lana to write her own love songs. In late 2020, the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before actress released her single ‘For Real’ about missing her boyfriend while she’s traveling for work.
