“I Transitioned While On YouTube” NikkieTutorials Comes Out As Transgender

Today, NikkieTutorials revealed in her latest video that she’s transgender.

In the video called “I’m Coming Out.” the beauty guru sits down to share a side of her that she’s never spoken about before with her audience.

“I’ve been wanting to share this side of myself to you all for so long,” she says. “I did not expect this day to be today.”

Throughout the video, Nikkie alludes to feeling pressured or threatened by someone in her life to come out as transgender, confirming at the end that she’s being blackmailed.

She says she always wanted to share this with her audience, but the chance to do so on her own terms has been taken away from her.

Which is tbh disgusting and vile.

Nikkie confirms that she was born a boy.

She says that even her mum knew from day one that she was meant to be a girl. “When my mum was pregnant she later told me she was convinced she was having a girl. She didn’t get any boy clothes because she was convinced she was having a girl.”

By the age of 6, she started growing her hair out and by the age of 7 or 8, she was wearing exclusively girls’ clothing. While her mum and teachers at her school were always understanding and supportive, she admits that some of her classmates growing up were not.

After years of living as a girl, Nikkie started her transition at 14 years old with hormone therapy and growth stunters (she was apparently supposed to be even taller than she is now!).

And by the time she was 19, Nikkie was fully transitioned.

“I transitioned while on YouTube.”

With over 14.2 million subscribers, Nikkie is one of the biggest beauty channels on the platform and one of the first beauty gurus ever— starting her channel over 12 years ago. She’s since become wildly successful, working with the likes of Kim Kardashian, Drew Barrymore, Lady Gaga and Rihanna.

A notoriously private person, Nikkie explains that she had yet to reveal this to her audience because she doesn’t believe in labels. “At the end of the day I am me. And at the end of the day you are you.”

She says her fiancé Dylan does know, but she wishes she had told him sooner and that they are working through it.

And while the news comes as a surprise to many of her fans, the response has been overwhelmingly supportive, with commenters praising the influencer for being brave and calling her “inspiring,” “strong,” and “beautiful.”

“You get to write your own story. Live your own life. Live it without any restrictions,” she says proudly. “I hope that me standing up and being free inspires others to do the same.”

YOU. GO. GIRL.
