Every woman’s worst nightmare.

Svetlana Bilyalova AKA Svetabily, the Russian Instagram model featured in Jay Alvarrez’s now-infamous sex tape, claims she is the victim of revenge porn. After racking up millions of views, the 28-year-old addressed the sex tape on her YouTube channel a few days ago. YouTube has now removed her response video for violating community guidelines.

The sex tape first went viral after a November 24th episode of Logan Paul’s podcast, Impaulsive. During the episode, co-host Mike Majlak says the video was sent to him in DMs and only had around 4,000 views at the time. Mike admits that he believes the tape was leaked by a third party “which you hate to see because [Jay Alvarrez] doesn’t get to cash in on it”.

But that didn’t stop him from introducing it to Impaulsive‘s millions of fans.

In clips obtained by commentary channel Def Noodles before the video was removed, Sveta says, “Okay, this was my sex tape. I don’t believe it was leaked, I believe that Jay posted it himself.”

She explains that the tape was made four years ago while she was in a private relationship with the travel blogger. “Jay was like, ‘Please, let’s make it on my camera, I will edit it, it will be so cool,” she says of being pressured into making the sex tape. Sveta then reveals that it was actually her best friend who filmed the video and that she owns the rights to it.

The Russian model claims that during their breakup, Jay began threatening to post the sex tape without her consent. She believes he only posted it now to draw up buzz about himself because he’s “self-obsessed” and has lost relevancy.

The influencer goes on to expose Jay for having financial problems and alleges he exploited her for money over the course of their three-year friendship— even going as far as to fake her signature on brand contracts and forcing her to give him a percentage for “brokering” the deal.

“I was blackmailed when I was in Africa not that long ago with those videos from [an] anonymous number,” she says. “Was refusing to believe that it was Jay because still, it was my friend.” Sveta then shows text messages allegedly from Jay that shows him threatening to “post our porn.”

Characterised by sharing, or threatening to share, sexually explicit photos or videos of someone without their consent, revenge porn is a growing problem in the viral space. A study reported on by The Guardian found that one in three Australians between the ages of 16 and 24 have been victims of image-based abuse compared to one in five just three years earlier. This also includes taking sexually explicit photos or videos of someone without their knowledge.

Before it was removed from YouTube, Sveta’s video had around 400,000 views and an overwhelmingly supportive comment section.

Jay Alvarrez has not addressed Sveta’s claims at the time of publication.
